The U14 Spring Club team is an opportunity for field hockey players to improve skills and gain exposure to competitive games. The athletes will focus on working with new teammates and developing passing, team defensive and scoring skills.
There are NO Tryouts for this team. Once registration is closed, we will split the girls into teams. Each team will work with a coach.
Included in the Club Fee:
- 6 Practices held at Marion Diehl - March 18, March 21, April 22, May 6, July 8, July 15
- 4 Tournaments (listed below)
- Free Participation in the Summer Open Play Sessions - June 3, June 10, June 17, June 24
- Reversible Pennie

- Possible invitation to play at U16 tournaments.
The intention of the teams is to practice skills and game situations and then apply those in the following tournaments and scrimmages:
- March 24: Davidson 7v7 Playday
- March 31: UNC Clinic and 7v7 Playday
- April 29: Winston-Salem Optimist Playday
- Potentially a playday at Appalachian State Univseristy in April.
- July 20-22: Disney ESPN Rise Tournament
Yes! I said DISNEY! This tournament is for U12 & U14 teams. It is a FUN optional tournament as a way to end the season. This tournament also gives the younger players exposure to larger field hockey tournaments in a less competitive environment as a way to prepare for U16 & U19 tournaments. Player and Coach Travel Fees are NOT included in the club fee. These fees will be determined once the rosters are set. The teams will charter vans for the trip and some parent chaperones will be asked to travel.
