What if I cannot make it to all of the practices/tournaments? All
tournament & practice participation is optional. We understand the high demands
on student-athletes, especially in the spring season. We do ask that
you participate in practices and tournaments as much as possible. Once
registration closes, you will be asked to indicate if there is
tournament you cannot participate in. We ask that you let us know as
soon as possible, so that we can ensure full team rosters at all
tournaments.
What are the Travel Arrangements and Expectations for Tournaments? Hotel, Airfare and/or Van if needed will be an additional cost to the registration fee.
Team
Hotel Reservations will be made for U19 and U16 athletes. These athletes may travel without a parent under the coaches supervision. A player conduct contract must be signed. We ask that this age group stay in team rooms to develop team bonds. Parents are welcome to stay at the same hotel as the team, but athletes will be asked to contribute to the team hotel expenditures.
U14 and U12
team members will be expected to travel with a parent or parent
supervisor when applicable.
Parents are expected to make their own hotel
reservations. Group rates and hotel details will be provided by
CFHC. Driving or carpool arrangements are to be made by the athlete's
family. CFHC will only provide transportation to a limited number of
local events.
Are there tryouts for the club teams? There
are no tryouts for the club Team. These tournaments allow us
to submit multiple teams. Once all registrations are received, teams
will be made based on tournament availability and age.
PLEASE NOTE: For our large, elite tournaments, tryouts may be held to select the specific team. These tournaments typically only allow one team to attend. These tournaments may include, the National Festival Tournament, Disney Field Hockey Showcase, ESPN Rise Games, Club Championship Qualifier/Tournament, Indoor Qualifier/Tournament. Can I participate in a tournament if I am not registered for the spring team? No. With the new USFHA Club Affiliation ruling, you are not allowed to participate in a USFHA sanctioned event if you are not a club member. There is a hardship clause that allows us to invite up to 3 guests to a tournament if we do not have enough available members within our own club.
Can an athlete "play up" an age group? Potentially. Depending on the number of athletes traveling to tournaments and the actual tournament....some players may be allowed to play up. For our Elite tournaments, we are allow to have up to 5 players from an younger age group play up. Please email mikiosh1@yahoo.com if you are interested in playing up. How will travel costs be determined? We will coordinate travel arrangements once final rosters are complete. We will make the best effort to reserve affordable, but nice hotels. Once the reservations are made, I will divide the cost by the total number of athletes traveling and let everyone know the final cost. You will not be responsible for travel costs if you are not attending a tournament.
Do you pro-rate the fee for less tournament participation? No we do not pro-rate the club fee.
